After almost 24 hours of turmoil, the blog is finally up again. Check out the new layout, with a menu that follows you everywhere like a ghost. I’m still running on wordpress 2.1 because I don’t have the guts to upgrade to WP 2.3.1. Wasn’t sure if it’d break. For a brief moment, all the private posts were exposed and anyone who happened to be around will be flooded with all my private posts.

Apparently, one of my plugins – Category Access by David Coppit, was preventing all pingbacks from appearing on my comments. So, in case anyone thinks that I am dao and not displaying your pingback/trackback to me, it’s not really that case. =P

However, now that the problem is solved (after 24 hours of grilling and testing), this blog should hopefully, be stable. If you happen to stumble upon any private posts, do email me about it. =) They may be seditious sensitive and could hurt the fragile equilibrium that is supporting our harmony.

By the way, this layout works in IE 7.0 and Firefox For the first time, I have made sure that everything is displayed properly in Firefox. Do let me know if it’s not working for your browser.

So, what’s new?

  • Pingbacks/trackbacks will now be reflected
  • Sitemap is created
  • Contact form for ease of contact A page for you to contact me
  • 3 column blog instead of 2 so that you don’t have to scroll all the way down to see the side panels (which still seems quite long)

… amongst others. I’ll be taking a hiatus too. Of 4 hours to release some stress. Heh… if you happen to be around Chinatown, do drop me an email. =P

And oh, to all my friends, Happy Deepavali !!!

Nice, clean layout. I had fun scrolling up and down and watching the tabs on the left there follow me around.

    Up, down, up, down.

(sorry … bored with work! hehe!)

Just a note to anyone interested in my Category Access and Category Order plugins… I’m ceasing development and support. A few reasons: (1) WordPress doesn’t have a good API, which forces me to update it with every release. (2) WordPress is riddled with security holes, forcing me to update every other week. (3) I find it easier to “outsource” the infrastructure for keeping up to date with family through Facebook.

The code will remain available at in case others want to pick up the torch and carry it forward. There are also supported alternatives out there. If you use or enhance my code please honor the license.
