Anyone would have thought that the Slingers came back strong after their 113-102 victory against the Hawks last week, when they started the lead for this Sunday’s game. While they maintained their lead, the subsequently succumbed to the Taipans with an 87-99 loss. With as much as a 11 point lead in the game, all things came crashing down when the overtook us at 43-44. From here, it was downhill all the way.

The Taipans surprised us with their 89.9% accuracy 3 point shoots, effectively drawing the game further away. The Slingers succumbed to pressure and missed a couple of 3-points. A spectacular attempt by Rod/Mike (I’m not sure who) to dunk failed as the ball rebounded out of the court. Following which was a series of fouls by the Slingers. Despite the loss, it was still a good match, with the Slingers trailing 12 points behind. I’m sure they will be better prepared for the next match.

As per norm, the usual suspects were there:

Sorely missing were Nic, Precious, Princess, Miss Cel, Sheylara, and gang… =P It’s ok… it’d be another gathering soon 😉

And in case you have not been following, there’s still the million dollar shot. To register for a chance, just go to The site would actually ask you to key in some answer. Here are some clues for the answer:

Importantly, the answer is a number. =) So, just fill it in and go for it! 😉

That having said, what’s a basketball match like without some cheerleaders? Instead of taking wide, random pictures, I tried zooming in… so that you guys can decide if The Goonfather’s comments are valid 😉

And I was right. There is indeed a dance move for Harvey Norman’s catchy advertisement jingle:

They are usually moving a little too fast for my camera to capture. Sigh. Seriously, if you are still wondering, you should just leave me a message for the tickets and I’d try to see if I can reserve some tickets for you. 😉

I also realised today that the system behind the score board runs on Windows XP… because it crashed today.

Then again, so do all the program schedulers in my school as well as the display boards in MRT stations. Windows is ubiquitous – there’s no way to run away from it. =)

People from  were also hilarious with their placards that reads "You shoot like my grandma", "Miss Lah", and "I’m here with your girlfriend". Quite obviously, some of these do not work. =P

Last but not least, here are some of the mid-air actions that you have missed:

And before I forget, I realised that Nadnut and Daphne’s students are smitten by #7:

It was a good game all in all. Do drop me a message if you’d like tickets for it. 😉
