Hi; fellow Singaporeans,
please be more understanding in regard to the Policemen and Armed Forces personnels deployed in the hunt for Mas Selamat.

I grudgingly completed my National Service in the Army in 1972 and will not make Army a career in my life. The reason is that no one is allowed initiatives in the Armed Forces, therefore it is not a place for one who treasures reasonability and usefulness. However, I must say that many are also in the professions because of survival, a job to get them an income. Obviously there are also people who find the profession interesting and or challenging, but by and large, it is the income that matters.

Knowing that only the highest commanders are in authority to issue orders, those other ranks under them are but order takers, so there is very little that most of them can do. No initiative, no countering except play foolish and act blur, all in the name of survival.

I think many of our uniformed personnels are not always in agreements to the instructions and orders they are ordered to do. But because of the Uniform Disciplines, Chain of Commands and other inflexibilities, they just simply have to follow instructions. Please be more understanding. BUT IF THEY EVER TURN THEIR ARMS AGAINST THE PEOPLE, THEY SHOUD BE MINDFUL OF THEIR ACTS FOR THAT WILL AND SHALL BE AN ACT OF SIN.

Why are there so many comments about this escape and none about the blatant abuse of power of the ISA. Instead of being used against people like this guy,

it was used in the past against Francis Seow, catholic "do gooders" church workers, JBJ etc. How can we trust PAP not to abuse their power??

Why is the person in charge not making statements?
where is the accountability?
and why happen just after budget surplus was announced????
Why?
And We pay them so much salary when they couldn't even do their job properly.
Focus on the budget and ask for refund for poor service quality.
Can we complain to case for poor public servant service?

I can't believe such things happen in Singapore! Usually I only watched it in drama. I guess many of us will be questioning Singapore's security already. Seriously, if someone in detention can escape, what's security? So now you will see how your tax is being used by the government ha? Feeding useless people who can let a criminal escaped? Or unknowingly let people like dave teo secretly armed and escaped from camp? What rubbish is Singapore security forces doing?!?!?!

to my opinion.. i shall come to the point.(by the way my school is near malcolm park and you shall guess which school i come from). as i was in school, thousands of police were guarding my school, even inside the school!! and if he escaped from the detention centre by the toilet, and the fact that he is a LIMP??? he can jump out of the window and no one knows?? and HE IS A LIMP??!! and the fact that the residents and people were only told 4 hours later.. how can we find him?? 4 hours is alot of time.. and this may have a possibility that there was a inside job in this.. he has no money?? so he has to walk because he can't take a taxi!! but he is limping?? and even if he did take a taxi the driver would hae known because he is wearing the uniform?? so he coul not have walked so far away because lemme say it again, he is a LIMP!! so in my opinion, i think he is hiding somewhere in malcom park where all the bushes and trees are.because he cannot walk far so thats that.
